Animal health supplies

We carry all the essential animal health products you need on farm—lame cow treatments, drenches, working dog food, Rumenox, down‑cow supplements, and a full range of everyday supplies. If something isn’t in stock, we’ll get it in for you quickly. And while you’re here, help yourself to a hot cuppa and our famous lollie jar—because good service should feel good too.

BCS & Nutrition

Body condition is a key driver of production, reproduction, and overall herd health. Our certified BCS assessor provides accurate, consistent scoring to support timely and effective nutritional decisions.

We work closely with leading nutrition companies such as Nutritech and Agvance to ensure your herd receives the most appropriate and up‑to‑date nutritional support. Together, we can track herd trends, identify animals needing extra attention, and develop practical, tailored feeding plans to keep your cows in optimal condition year‑round.

Diagnostics

We offer a full range of diagnostic testing to support fast, accurate decision‑making on farm. Our services include facial eczema spore counts (see our Sporecounts page), faecal egg counts, mineral testing, and thorough sampling and investigation of sick animals.

With full laboratory support through VetPathNZ and LIC, we provide Johne’s disease testing —ensuring reliable, timely results when you need them most.

Disbudding

Even with more herds moving toward polled genetics, most calves still need disbudding for safe, low‑stress handling later in life. We perform disbudding with full sedation, local anesthetic, and long‑acting pain relief to ensure maximum comfort. Every visit includes an overall health check, optional extra teat removal, clostridial vaccination & collecting DNA samples. A calm, welfare‑focused process from start to finish.

Lame cows

Lameness affects production, fertility, and cow comfort, so early action really matters. We provide assessment and treatment of lame animals, along with practical advice on prevention and herd‑level risk factors. Our team includes a vet trained through the Healthy Hoof programme, ensuring knowledgeable support and tailored recommendations to keep your cows sound and moving well.

Milk Quality

When mastitis or milk quality issues start putting pressure on your herd, fast and accurate diagnosis makes all the difference. Whether you’re dealing with elevated BMSCC, a spike in clinical mastitis, or ongoing milk quality challenges, our team is here to help get things back on track.

We can visit your shed, collect both individual cow and herd‑level milk samples, and organise rapid, reliable laboratory testing. Through our partnership with Dairysmart, we also offer in‑house mastitis diagnostics, providing quick turnaround results so you can act sooner.

With clear answers and practical, tailored solutions, we’ll help restore milk quality, reduce mastitis pressure, and support better udder health across your herd.

Reproductive interventions

Strong reproductive performance is the foundation of a productive herd, that’s why our comprehensive reproductive services are designed to lift cycling rates, improve conception, and keep your calving pattern tight and efficient year after year.

We offer a full range of targeted interventions, including:

• Metri‑checking to identify and treat postpartum uterine infections early, supporting a faster return to normal cycling.
• Synchrony programmes to streamline mating and tighten calving patterns for better herd flow and labour efficiency.
• Non‑cycler management plans tailored to your farm, ensuring more cows are ready to mate on time.

Scanning

We provide early pregnancy diagnosis, heifer scanning, and “phantom cow” checks throughout mating — giving you fast, accurate insights exactly when you need them. All results are entered straight into your herd management system, including MINDA & MyHerd, so your records stay clean, organised, and up to date without extra work on your end.

We’ve partnered with Southern Reproductive and IMV to bring you the latest high‑performance scanning technology. That means sharper images, quicker results, and reliable herd‑level data you can trust to drive smarter reproductive decisions.

Small Animals

We provide dependable, practical care for your working dogs, household pets, and other small animals—helping them stay healthy, comfortable, and performing at their best. Our services include:

Sustainability & Recycling Programmes

We are committed to supporting environmentally responsible farming. Through Product Stewardship Programmes, farmers and veterinary clinics can now recycle a range of commonly used products, significantly reducing plastic waste on farm.

Teatseal® Recycling Programme

Zoetis runs a nationwide recycling scheme for Teatseal® tubes, buckets, and teat wipe canisters, which can be returned to participating vet clinics. The plastic is collected by Plasback and repurposed by Future Post into durable recycled fence posts, helping keep thousands of kilograms of plastic out of landfill. In the past 2 years we already recycled over  

Livestock Vaccine Pack Recycling

Many livestock vaccine packs can also be returned to clinics for recycling. Zoetis vaccine packs are collected through Plasback and processed into new durable plastic products such as fence posts and plant trays, while MSD Animal Health vaccine Vaxipacks are sorted and repurposed within New Zealand through Agrecovery, keeping them out of landfill.

Elanco Metabolic Bag Recycling

Elanco metabolic solution bags are recycled through the Agrecovery–Elanco programme. Bags must be clean, with sharps and tubing removed, before being returned to the clinic or Farm Source.

These programmes make it easier than ever to reduce waste while maintaining high animal‑health standards on farm.

Teatsealing & Dry-off

Preventing mastitis in heifers starts with good teat sealing, and we’re here to make the whole process straightforward. Our well‑trained, enthusiastic team delivers safe, efficient teat sealing to protect your first‑time calvers before they hit the shed.

We can also support your whole‑herd dry‑off, from creating a tailored dry‑off and teat sealing plan for your farm through to the on‑farm work itself. Our goal is to make the process smooth, stress‑free, and effective—keeping your herd healthy and setting them up for a great start to next season.

Vaccinations

Keeping your herd healthy starts with a strong, well‑designed vaccination plan. Our team can tailor a simple, effective programme to suit your farm – from newborn calves to young stock and adult animals—helping you prevent disease, reduce losses, support long‑term productivity and protect both animals and people.

We offer comprehensive protection against the major diseases that impact New Zealand farms, including Lepto (4 strains), BVD, IBR, Salmonella, calf scours, and key clostridial diseases such as blackleg, tetanus, and pulpy kidney. We also provide mastitis vaccines to support udder health in herds dealing with Staph aureus.
